Counselor and Camper Interaction

Many of the Camp’s counselors are preservice special education students at A&M, who appreciate the rare experience of spending a weekend with children like those they will be teaching one day in their own classrooms. A low counselor to camper ratio ensures that each camper with a disability receives the support he or she needs to fully participate in all activities of their choice. Additionally, sibling campers enjoy an extra dose of attention not always available to them when their parents are understandably busy caring for their child who has a disability. Any applications received after the camp is full will be placed on a waitlist.

Camper Application Process

Are you interested in applying for your child to attend CAMP LIFE? In an effort to allow new families the opportunity to experience Camp LIFE, applications will no longer be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We will reserve a number of spots for new families and the remaining spots will be for returning campers. Returning campers that were unable to attend the previous camp will be given priority. Children with disabilities aged 5-21 and siblings without disabilities aged 5-12 are eligible for camp. Due to the limited spots available, only one sibling per family may attend. The application deadline for NEW campers is February 6, 2017. This will provide us with enough time to see if any returning campers may be removed from the waitlist.

Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, Camp LIFE has instituted an voluntary two-tier fee program. You may choose the tier that is most suitable for your family. Tier I ($250) is a partially subsidized fee for those who can pay a little but still cannot afford the entire cost of the camp. Tier II ($350) most closely accounts for the true costs of the camp. The camp fees are per person. Campers who are financially assisted by agencies/organizations are asked to pay the full fee (Tier II.) If you choose Tier I, please state your need for stipend support on your application. There is a limited amount of stipend support available.

In order to apply for Camp LIFE, follow these steps:

All applications must be received complete with payment. Please indicate on your online application if you are paying with a check or credit card. If paying by check, you will need to send it along with your waivers. One check may cover multiple campers. Camp fees are non-refundable after two weeks prior to camp. Make checks payable to "Texas A&M University." Checks will not be deposited until the camper is accepted. Those choosing to pay with a credit card will receive an email with a link to make your payment after your application has been approved. Credit card payments must be made within two business days of receiving the link. For your convenience, we've compiled a suggested packing checklist which includes directions to Camp For All.

Mail both waivers and check (if applicable) to:
